How to Buy Tickets
At the Gate: Tickets may be purchased at the Ford Orientation Center, just inside the Main Gate.

Please note that there is a $2 transaction fee per order. All sales are final. You may print your tickets at home or request that they be left at the will call window. For assistance please call 1-800-429-1520 or email onlineticketing@mountvernon.org. We recommend buying tickets online as this will allow you to bypass the ticket window line.

Transportation to the Distillery & Gristmill: The Distillery & Gristmill is located just three miles west of the Estate and does require that visitors provide their own transportation. Bus service is also available between 10:00am and 5:00pm. The Fairfax Connnector Bus #152 boards in front of the Mount Vernon Inn at 42 minutes past the hour every hour. Returning to the Estate, the Fairfax Connector Bus #151 boards on the hour every hour. For more information on bus schedules, please contact the Fairfax Connector office at: 703-339-7200.

Tourist Guidebook: This 160-page book includes more than 170 full-color photographs of George Washington's estate. It's a perfect companion for your visit. Available at the Ford Orientation Center and the Shops at Mount Vernon.
Audio Tour: A lively narration enhances your tour of the historic area and the Donald W. Reynolds Museum. Kid-friendly information is included. Available at the Ford Orientation Center.
Mount Vernon Seasonal Tourist Attractions in the Washington, D.C., Area
Sightseeing Cruises: Enjoy a 40-minute sightseeing tour and waterside view of Mount Vernon. Trips are offered daily (excluding Monday) at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00, April through August and on weekends in September and October. Tickets may be purchased at the Ford Orientation Center or on the boat. $9 for adults, $5 for youth.
Distillery & Gristmill Site: Costumed workers operate George Washington's reconstructed Distillery and his Gristmill site from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, April through October. Located three miles from the main estate. $4 for adults, $2 for youth; $2 for adults and $1.50 for youth when combined with Mount Vernon admission.
